eLan Property Group and SARLA join forces
South African Rugby Legends Association has joined forces with the eLan Property Group to tackle various pertinent issues facing South Africa. This initiative was launched on 10 May at the VOC Centre, Cape Sun Hotel in Cape Town.
John Allan, CEO of South African Rugby Legends Association and former Springbok, Scottish and Sharks hooker is passionate about giving back to the community. His energy for the SARLA-inspired projects sparks off all those around him to contribute to his initiatives. The persevering SARLA team have been working side by side with the South African Rugby Unions, South African Police Services, former rugby stars to make their programmes possible.
eLan Property Group is a dynamic company of property developers based in Kwa Zulu Natal. These two inspiring teams are combining to make an impact in tomorrow's youth with hosting social development programmes amongst other projects around South Africa. The South African Rugby Legends Association has a number of programmes that are already up and running and will be launched during the year. The Adopt a School; Iqhawe Social programme; Street Kid Crime Prevention and Leaving a Legacy are the four projects that are being run with Legends at the helm.
eLan have become the title sponsors for the eLan South African Rugby Legends team. The eLan South African Rugby Legends have all ready trained more that 35,000 children in clinics held by the eLan Legends.
At the launch was model Minki Van Der Westhuizen and Ferdi from Big Brother. There were participants from the controversial tour to New Zealand by the Springboks in 1981. Commonly referred to as 'The Tour', the Springboks played three tests and were victorious in only the second test match. Speakers spoke of having flour bombs dropped onto the field in protest of the games and protestors bombarding the fields during the test matches.
