Golf Days
The eLan SA Rugby Legends participated in three golf days recently once again highlighting their enormous contribution to various charities throughout the country and indeed to society as a whole.
The Richmark and Kirsty Watts Golf Days raised R250,000 at each of their golf days. Kirsty Watts, the daughter of well renowned M Net TV presenter of Carte Blanche fame and eLan Brand Ambassador Derek Watts, was an absolute revelation.
The sprightly 15 year old who is a cancer survivor had approached Gavin Verejes President of SARLA to help her with the idea of forming a Trust Fund and start fundraising events for cancer and the rest is history. Verejes was so impressed with Kirsty’s enthusiasm and her love for life he couldn’t but help to agree and participated gladly. So it was with the eLan SA Rugby Legends also on hand together with proud dad Derek all arriving to help make the day the success that it was. Kirsty thanked both Verejes and John Allan for their support and remarkable contribution to the event which they will surely continue with in the years to come.
The Blue Label Golf Day the most recent of the golf days held on the 5th November at the Glendower Country Club was an enormous success as well with their Event and Marketing Co-ordinator Salome Mohomed explaining that she was blown away with the generosity of so many good people. SARLA had legendary rugby commentator Hugh Bladen as a guest in their four ball playing along side CEO of SARLA John Allan, Rod Blew and Mac Masina.
