Andile Nyembezi was born on the 11th of August 1969 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Rugby has been part of his life since he was a child with his father as his mentor. He started playing rugby at K. K. Ncwana Primary School. He continued playing Rugby for Tamsanqa Senior Secondary School. In 1985 he represented his School at the Eastern Province Senior Schools Rugby Tournament. In 1986 he was selected for SA Schools. From 1987 to 1991 he played club rugby for the Eastern Rugby Football Club, his father, Redverf Nyembezi is the founder of the Football Club.

1993 during the unifications he played for the P.E Harlequins. In 1994 he played for the Eastern Province Rugby Union and was selected as a Junior Springbok where he played as a flank. During 1994 he also played for the SA Development Team and played against Argentina, Australia (Wallabies), Scotland and Wales. Unfortunately due to a knee injury Andile Could not play for 2 years.

In 1997 he came back to play club rugby and played at the Toyota Champ of Champs in Durban and then the Supersport Champ of Champs in Pretoria. In 2001 and 2002 he played in the Vodacom Cup Rugby and the Currie Cup for the Eastern Province.
