SA Rugby Legends Coaching Clinic At Morgan Bay

The SA Rugby Legends Association will return to the Eastern Cape once more to support a Rugby 7s tournament at the Morgan Bay Rugby Field this weekend from the 4th to 5th of March.

Situated 40kms from East London, the coastal town will host the tournament featuring 16 local teams from surrounding areas including Mooiplaas, Komgha, Cintsa and Kei Mouth.

With all these teams gathered, there will be a total of 230 young players ranging between
the age of 12 to 16 years, as well as the Queens College first team who are attending as part of their pre-season preparation.

The organisers have invited the SA Rugby Legends to conduct a coaching clinic for the players, which will be led by former Lions and Border stalwart Reinhard Gerber.

Joining Reinhard will be former Springbok hooker Delarey Du Preez, Blitz Bok Dale Heidtmann, SA Academy 7’s player Shane Spring, as well as twin brothers Ruan and Niell Jacobs, who are both Border U17A coaches.

The Eastern Cape is often called the nursery of rugby in South Africa. The sport is popular amongst all who live in the region and many of SA’s leading rugby talent has come from the area including Siya Kolisi, Bjorn Basson, Gcobani Bobo, Khaya Molotana, Lwazi Mvovo and several of our Blitz Bokke.
