It’s time, once again, for the South African Rugby Legends Association (SARLA) to head to Ballito for the annual NATAL LEGENDS DAY, hosted by North Coast Club, the Ballito Dolphins. And it’s all happening on Saturday, 29 February at the Maidstone Cricket Oval (now Rugby Club), from 1pm.
This year’s Legends Day promises to be a feast of fun for the whole family. VIP ticket holders will join Rugby World Cup winners, Os du Randt (World Rugby Hall of Fame) and Naka Drotske, along with a host of other Rugby Legends for a sit-down lunch and Q&A, followed by rugby action and a great party.
Before kick-off, the Legends will be hosting a Kids Coaching Clinic at 13:30pm and Rugby Tots will be doing one for the kiddies aged 2- 6 at the same time. At 2:30pm, it’s time for the warmup game between the Ballito Dolphins U11’s and Mtunzini U11’s. Next, SARLA will field a KZN Legends team to take on their hosts, the Ballito Dolphins Madalas, at 15:30pm. Then, the party begins and a live band will join the festivities at 6:00pm.
SARLA’s CEO, Stefan Terblanche, said “Days like this are what the spirit of sport is all about. It’s amazing for our Legends to get back onto the field for a friendly match, surrounded by supporters who love the game. And the rugby clinic reminds us why we’re actually here – to support youth development and give young people a chance at a better life. We hope to see you on the 29th!”
