The organisers of the KAP sani2c mountain bike race, which ended in Scottburgh on Saturday, 18 May 2019, have confirmed that seven of their event crew were tragically killed when the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a collision.

The South African Rugby Legends Association (SARLA) would like to express their condolences to the entire sani2c family, especially to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident. SARLA CEO, Stefan Terblanche shared the following words in response to the news “We are all deeply saddened to hear about this tragic loss. Over the last 9 years SARLA’s relationship with the organisers, volunteers, villagers and the supporters along the route have all become family to the SARLA riders.” He added that “The sani2c is an incredibly well-run event and to lose seven key team members is an awful tragedy. ”All of our thoughts are with their families, Farmer Glen and the entire sani2c team.”
